Flakes and Brans

Description
Myllyn Paras produces a variety of different flakes and brans. All of our flakes have been manufactured from tested, clean and high quality grains. We use Finnish grain for our flakes whenever possible; wheat and barley are always Finnish, rye depends annual crop yields. Flakes are made from grains which are first cleaned and then cut, steamed and finally flattened into flakes. Oat grains are also peeled and heat treated after cleaning. Heat treating and steaming postpone the spoiling of the flakes. A flake will cook faster if the grain is cut into smaller pieces.


We produce flakes with a cooking time of 1 minute to 20 minutes.

  • Rolled Rye Flakes
  • Mixed Rolled Flakes (e.g. oat-rye flakes)
  • Instant Oatmeals

 

We also produce different kinds of brans, e.g. oat brans are made from cleaned oat kernels, from which the bran is separated by grinding.
